Sammy Davis, Jr. - Candy Man b/w I Want To Be Happy, Sammy Davis, Jr. Now, 1972, MGM Records, Warner Bros. Music
I know his style of Jazz, and I know his Pop style, but, I did not know that Sammy got down like this! Look out! This is one solid track that does not let down! With the unshakeable drum break, a splash of tambourine, the driving spirit of the piano, the funky twang on lead, the rich quality of the horns, plus the perfect balance of angelic strings; I Want To Be Happy makes me very happy, and it will make you happy too!
*It may read ‘Empty’ on the sleeve, however, this track is anything but.
